Pick A Pen: Crypten

Pick-a-Pen: Crypten is available in English and Dutch. It is a game from the Pick-a-Pen series, a new generation of innovative "Roll & Write" games, which literally involves rolling with pencils. This allows for many different game dynamics with the same playing material. But in each game, the focus is on coloring fields. Will you score the most points in the process?

In Crypten, you are trying to decipher very complicated inscriptions in an ancient crypt. Complete as many rows and columns as you can, with some symbols giving you an extra turn!
You each have a score sheet of the same level, on which you color in symbols in an ancient crypt. The starting player first rolls all the pencils, each of which has a different color. On their sides are different symbols. These show which square you may color in that color on your score sheet. 
On your turn, choose a pencil and color in the corresponding symbol. When doing so, you must always progress from left to right. When a row is full, you may color in a symbol of your choice. And if you color in a bold outlined symbol with the correct color, you may color in another symbol as a bonus. In this way you try to fill in as many rows and columns with the correct colors as possible. If you succeed, you may color in bonus points on your sheet. The game ends when one of the players has colored in all his squares.
